Job Description
Medacs Healthcare are currently seeking forward thinking Band 5 and 6 CCU nurses to work within an NHS Trust in Cambridgeshire. The unit offers a friendly, dynamic and supportive environment and is dedicated to the education and professional advancement of all the team. The shift duration is 12.5 hours with internal rotation onto nights and weekends with a self rostering system in place. The successful candidate will be working within a 12 bedded unit that provides level 3 (intensive care) and level 2 (high dependency) support to patients following cardiac, major aortic and thoracic surgery in a brand new critical care facility. There are opportunities to develop skills in invasive and non-invasive modes of ventilation and weaning, the use of ventricular assist devices, cardiac output monitoring and haemofiltration. You must have recent acute clinical experience (preferably within critical care) and demonstrable commitment to developing cardiothoracic critical care skills. You will have a supernumerary period with support from a mentor and a comprehensive competency based development package. There may be opportunities for staff to rotate to other areas within Cardiac Services. Candidates must hold or be in the process of registration with the NMC (Nursing Midwifery Council).
