Job Description:
Our client is seeking experienced scientists/engineers to support the development of innovative sensing systems and technologies for biomedical applications. The successful candidates will be expected to make a solid contribution to a group with core business in drug delivery devices, manufacturing systems, diagnostic instrumentation and surgical technology.
You will be expected to:
- Immediately engage in a technically and commercially stretching environment
- Critically evaluate, select and develop sensor technologies for specific medical devices and applications, from selection of materials to process development and instrument design
- Contribute to and lead technically demanding medical technology projects
- Effectively integrate with a talented multi-disciplinary team of like-minded people
Requirements:
Suitable candidates for the role of Biomedical Sensor Scientist will need to have:
- A 1st or 2.1 class degree in a relevant scientific/technical discipline (physics, engineering, biomedical science)
- Significant working knowledge of biomedical sensor technologies and applications
- Understanding of transduction methods (optical, electrochemical, mass) and analytical techniques
- Experience with biological interfaces and biological detection systems
- Familiarity with data analysis and statistical design of experiments (required) as well as Datamodelling and algorithm development (desirable)
- Competence in design control and regulatory requirements for medical devices
- Intrinsically high levels of motivation
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- A good mixture of analytical, experimental and creative capabilities
- Strong interest/track record in medical device development
