Full Description:
• What’s involved:
1 To lead the development and implementation a Cambridge Climate Change Strategy in consultation with a full range of stakeholders inside and outside the Council.
2 To lead in promoting the role of the Authority in adapting to and mitigating climate change and gain commitment from Councillors, management and staff to meet the requirements of the Nottingham Declaration on Climate Change.
3 To work with the Department to raise the profile of climate change within the Authority and develop campaigns to help deliver Cambridge City Council climate change commitments.
4 To work closely with all Council departments to develop, implement and monitor City Council actions and co-ordinate activities across the authority to ensure a consistent corporate response to climate change mitigation and adaptation.
5 To lead the work with external partners and stakeholders to establish partnerships to develop and implement a city level strategy that dovetails into the City Council’s climate change plan.
6 To work with Council departments to utilise regional and national campaigns to help deliver climate change commitments, make maximum use of funding opportunities and promote high profile local campaigns directed toward homes, school and business.
